You might notice that some artists here on dA, starting from respected Ladyofspira (https://www.deviantart.com/ladyofspira) just got sick b'coz of the enormous amount of crappy anime fanart that gets too much attention, "no matter how shitty it appears to be... a few "kawaii" or "sooo cute XD" comments later and BANG.. you have a front page deviation... WHY?" cit. Claire. honestly, go to deviantART frontpage, hit browse, and get them sorted by week's populars. now, how many stuff there is that is not anime? see what i'm talking about? If this continues, dA will turn to an anime website, all others will just leave.

Yeap, it's open for everyone. Check News article about it: 7 reasons for 5 seasons (fifth is alien one).
